Rent or bring your own dive gear? How to decide
Renting dive gear makes travelling easy; your own gear fits and you know exactly how it works. The usual answer is a mix: bring the small, personal items — mask, computer, perhaps a regulator — and rent the bulky ones like the BCD, tank and weights. How many dives you plan, and how much fit matters to you, decide the rest.

What are the pros of renting?
- Nothing heavy to fly with.
- Equipment suited to local conditions, serviced by the dive centre.
- Easy for a single dive day or a try dive.
What are the pros of your own gear?
- A mask that fits your face — the most common rental complaint is a leaking mask.
- A computer you know how to read, with your dive history.
- Familiar controls, which helps on more demanding dives.
So what should you bring?
Scuba Diving magazine's advice is that it depends on comfort with unfamiliar equipment, number of dives and how much you value fit. For most holiday divers that means a mask and a computer of your own, and renting the BCD and regulator.
What does rental cost on our day trips?
On our Daily Diving days: a full equipment set (wetsuit included) €10 a day, a dive computer €5 a day, Nitrox €8 a tank, an underwater camera €20 a day.

Do I need my own wetsuit?
No; it's included in our €10 equipment set. Bring your own if you prefer a particular fit or thickness.
