What is the dolphin speedboat trip like?
It's a short, fast trip for your own group. We pick you up from your hotel in Hurghada, and the speedboat takes you north to Shaab El Erg — the reef known as Dolphin House, where a group of wild dolphins often rests inside the lagoon.
The captain slows down near the reef and looks for the dolphins. When they're there and calm, you slip into the water with mask and fins and watch them from the surface. Then there's time to snorkel the reef before the ride back. The dolphins are wild, so we can't promise them — but the reef is always there.
How do we treat the dolphins?
- We never chase, surround or block them — the boat keeps its distance
- No touching and no feeding
- You stay calm on the surface and let the dolphins decide how close they come
- If they're resting or moving away, we leave them alone and snorkel the reef

Will we see dolphins?
Very often, but not always — they're wild animals and come and go as they like. If they aren't there or don't want company, you still snorkel the reef at Shaab El Erg.
How much does it cost?

Can I swim with the dolphins?
Yes, from the surface with mask and fins, when they're calm and stay nearby. We never chase, touch or feed them.
Do I need to be able to swim?
You should be comfortable in the water. Life jackets are on board, and you can also watch from the boat.
