“An unforgettable week of diving in Hurghada!
From October 4th to 11th, I went diving in Egypt and it was an absolutely amazing experience. We spent every day on the boat and the underwater world around Hurghada was beautiful. But what took the whole holiday to a completely different level were the people. Everyone on the boat was absolutely wonderful, incredibly helpful, and assisted each of us with everything. From morning till evening, there was a great atmosphere on board – you felt completely safe and relaxed. A huge thank you to the entire crew for their professional and human touch, which made it a carefree and perfect week. I highly recommend it to everyone!”

Ahmed G. ★★★★★
“Had an amazing 4 days of diving with 71 Guardians! Ahmed was our guide, and honestly, his organization and dive profiles were excellent. Every dive was well planned, smooth, and enjoyable. We were lucky enough to see eagle rays, stingrays, a turtle, a Red Sea walkman, and so much more! It’s amazing how much you can experience in just four days when you have a guide who really knows what he’s doing. Thanks, Ahmed, for making every dive special! Definitely an experience I’d recommend.”

Daily diving — the questions we get most

Do I need to be certified to dive with you?

For the recreational day, you need Open Water (PADI, SSI or equivalent) or higher; for the technical day, Tec 40 or higher. Never dived before? Our Discover Scuba Diving try dive needs no certification — just basic swimming and a briefing with an instructor.

How warm is the water in Hurghada, and which wetsuit do I need?

The sea averages about 22–23 °C from January to March, around 25 °C in May and 28–29 °C in August, cooling to 24–26 °C by December. A 3 mm suit is enough in high summer and a 5 mm for most of the year; in winter, many divers add a hood or switch to 7 mm. A full equipment set, wetsuit included, is €10 a day.

When is the best time of year to dive in Hurghada?

Hurghada is a year-round destination. Spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) offer the best balance of warm water and calmer seas. Summer brings the warmest water and the busiest boats; winter is quieter, cooler and windier, so pack a thicker suit.

Is Hurghada good for beginners?

Yes. The Giftun islands and the Abu Ramada reefs have sheltered, shallow coral gardens that are ideal for newer divers, and we choose each morning's sites for the conditions and the group. First time underwater? Start with a Discover Scuba Diving try dive.

Will I see dolphins or sharks?

Dolphins are often seen around Shaab El Erg — known as Dolphin House — north of Hurghada, and are a highlight of many trips there. Sharks are uncommon on the local day-trip reefs; for oceanic sharks, our liveaboards visit the offshore marine parks such as the Brothers and Daedalus.

How deep do we dive?

Recreational dives stay within your certification and never go beyond 40 m, the recreational limit in Egypt. On the technical day, you dive within your tec certification and the plan agreed with your guide.

Can I touch the coral or wear gloves?

Please don't touch anything — Egyptian rules prohibit touching coral and marine life, and pointer sticks aren't allowed. Gloves are for warmth in the cooler months only, never for holding on to the reef.

How long should I wait before flying after diving?

Follow DAN's guidance: at least 12 hours after a single no-decompression dive, and 18 hours after a day of two dives or several days of diving — longer after decompression dives. The simplest rule: don't dive the day before your flight home.

It's been a while since my last dive — can I still join?

Of course — just tell us when you book. If it's been more than a year, your first dive of the day is an easy check dive with your guide, at no extra cost, so you feel comfortable before the second dive.

What's the cancellation policy?

Cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before your trip. If we cancel because of the weather or sea conditions, you pay nothing and we rebook you for another day.

How do I pay?

In cash on the morning of your trip. Nothing is paid in advance: we confirm your booking on WhatsApp.

How much is a daily diving trip in Hurghada?

The guided recreational day with two Red Sea boat dives is €50 per diver. Hotel pickup, lunch and soft drinks are included; equipment rental is extra. See the guided day trip for current prices, inclusions and multi-day packages.

Which diving centres and boats do you work with?

We work exclusively with CDWS diving centres and boats. You can check registered operators in the official CDWS directory.

Are your instructors DAN-insured and active with CDWS?

Yes. Our team includes five instructors with DAN insurance and active CDWS status.

What insurance covers your guides and boat?

Our guides and our boat are insured. This does not imply personal accident cover for guests.

Are emergency oxygen and boat emergency equipment available?

Emergency oxygen and boat emergency equipment are available.

How do you set the planned depth for certified divers?

Planned dive depths always stay within your certification limit. The dive plan also takes account of conditions and your experience to keep the dive suitable for you.

Ready to plan your dive day?

Send us your dates, the number of divers and the day you'd like — recreational or technical. We'll confirm availability on WhatsApp, usually within the hour.
