How much do multi-day dive packages cost?
Diving several days costs less per day: our multi-day packages on the 2-dive day trip take 2% off for 2 days, rising to 10% off for 10 days. Every day is the same trip: two guided boat dives, hotel pickup and lunch on board. Full gear rental, if you need it, is added per day.
The package prices follow the day price, so we don't print them here: see today's totals for 1 to 10 days on our price list or in the table on the trip page, and pick the number of days in the booking form.
How much is a try dive or an Open Water course in Hurghada?
A try dive costs €45, the Open Water course €365 (SSI or SDI) or €395 (PADI), and the Advanced course €290 (SSI or SDI) or €320 (PADI). Our course prices include the instructor, full gear, learning materials, certification and hotel pickup.
| Course | Price | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Try dive (PADI Discover Scuba Diving, SSI Try Scuba, SDI Scuba Discovery) | €45 | 1–2 hours from the beach, or about 8 hours on the daily boat |
| SSI Open Water Diver / SDI Open Water Scuba Diver | €365 | 3–4 days |
| PADI Open Water Diver | €395 | 3–4 days |
| SSI Advanced Open Water Diver / SDI Advanced Adventure Diver | €290 | About 2 days |
| PADI Advanced Open Water Diver | €320 | About 2 days |
| Scuba refresher (PADI ReActivate) | From €70 | For divers after a break |
A try dive is one-to-one with your instructor. PADI says Discover Scuba Diving is not a certification: the minimum age is 10, and the open-water dive goes no deeper than 12 metres. PADI's own FAQ says Open Water course prices vary by dive centre and suggests asking whether materials and rental gear are included, and whether there is a boat or certification fee. With us, all of those are in the price. Every course is on our courses page.
What should a fair diving price in Hurghada include?
A fair dive-day price should cover the boat, a guide, tanks and weights, lunch and your hotel transfer, and it should tell you clearly whether gear, park fees and pickup outside town cost extra. When you compare prices in Hurghada, ask these questions before you pay:
- Is hotel pickup included from where I'm staying? Some prices only include town hotels. Ours includes Hurghada, El Gouna, Makadi Bay, Sahl Hasheesh, Soma Bay and Safaga.
- How many divers per guide? Ours is max 4.
- Are tanks, weights and lunch in the price?
- What does rental gear cost, and is a computer part of it?
- Are marine park, island or marina fees included, or paid on the day? Get the answer in writing.
- Is Nitrox extra, and how much per tank?
- Do I pay in advance, and what happens if I cancel or the weather does?
- Does my insurance cover diving? DAN warns that some travel and medical policies exclude scuba injuries, and says hyperbaric treatment at US$800 an hour is not unusual. Check before you travel.
A low headline price is not cheap if gear, pickup and fees are added later. Compare the total for your whole day, with the gear you actually need.
How much do snorkeling and boat trips cost for non-divers?
Non-divers pay €35 to snorkel from our dive boat, and our boat trips cost €35 to €40 per person, or €200 for a private dolphin speedboat for up to 6 people.
| Trip | Price | What's in it |
|---|---|---|
| Snorkeler on the 2-dive day boat | €35 | Hotel pickup, snorkeling at both dive stops, mask and fins, lunch and soft drinks |
| Snorkeling trip (Giftun, Abu Ramada) | €35 | Hotel pickup, two snorkeling stops, mask and fins, lunch and soft drinks. Giftun Island beach visit +€5 (entry fee) |
| Orange Bay beach and snorkeling | €40 | Hotel pickup, boat to Giftun island, beach time, two snorkeling stops, mask and fins, lunch, Orange Bay entrance fee included |
| Private dolphin speedboat | €200 per boat, up to 6 people | About 3 hours with captain, hotel pickup in Hurghada, mask, fins, life jackets, water and soft drinks |
Island entrance fees are a common surprise on beach trips, so ask whether they are in the price. All our non-diving trips are on Boat Trips.
